Very good looking car. If it handles anything like the last Boss it will be really really promising track beast too. Just hope it doesn't weigh 3800lbs.

There will ALWAYS be advantages to lighter weight, especially on a track. The Cayman will never be faster (straight line, track, anywhere, really) but I do believe the extra 700-800 lbs of weight the GT350 is carrying will show up fairly substantially if you drive them back-to-back.
It's all about what you want, really. I could still see buying the Cayman for looks, lighter weight (agility/responsiveness), better transmission (almost a given), nicer interior and certainly brand cachet. If you want a dual-clutch gearbox, the Cayman also offers that.

I agree 100% ^
I drove my S and my fiance's cousin's '07 GT with thousands poured into the suspension back to back, and the GT still felt massive. It handled super well, but you can definitely feel the difference in weight.
At any rate, it seems ford has gone to great lengths to make the GT350 a home run here. It might wear its weight well.

Right, but getting a C6 Z06 caliber engine in a sub $60k car is something to take note of. I also suspect the suspension and chassis will be upgraded accordingly. This will be a very serious performance car that simply outclasses the Cayman.

This car will most likely blow away everything anywhere near its price range! I'm just really hoping price is around 50k. It should be I would think as they still need room for the gt500.

We were talking about this car at work yesterday and our consensus was it will be at least 50K. My guess is close to 60K.

I would think it would be closer to 50k since they need room to price gt500 still but maybe both will jump way up in price. Previous model gt500 started around 55k I think.

So, this or a C7? I still can't see buying this over a C7 unless you need the rear seats.

This isn't a replacement for the GT500. Completely different heritage. The FI replacement will come at a later date.

Rear end looks fantastic. Not digging that front end with all the extra bodywork under the headlights at all.
Also, stripe. Ugh. Please offer an options sans stripe.
