my friend (he's only 22!!!, long story) has a 745li, that thing is awesome. I have driven it, and it has some serious balls (only other car I have driven with a V8 is my freinds Dakota Truck, so I have limited experience with cars that powerful).

I love it, I know, and can understand that ALOT of people bad mouth Bangle, but the 745 and especially the 760 is "baller-rific" Is it worth 70k, maybe, but he had it to spend so he got it. I cant see spending that much on a car, as I cant afford to, but I dont think i would pass up a test drive in the 300C if I was in the market for a large sedan, even if I had 100k to spend.

As for what you said Abusive Wombat, I am just saying those are buisness mens cars, thats what they drive, I should know, in college I used to work in the garage that my fathers firm owned. Was I comparing a A6 and a Passat, no (sorry if it sounded like that) but thats what I think buisness men cars are.

OH, and I do think I can compare the Phaeton with BMW and Audi

I believe that Rai has a valid comparison here. The 300C and 7 series are almost identically sized with big V8s and RWD. The performance envelopes should be similar. The BMW costs more, but you get more:

iDrive (is this a plus or minus?)
Better materials (leather/vinyl/wood/carpet)
Nicer wheels/tires
Big ol butt (styling to me is about a tie)
More sophisticated suspension
More sophisticated drivetrain
BMW cachet

I haven't seen all the performance numbers, but my guess is that from a performance standpoint, you probably get about 85% of a 7 series for about 50% of the price.

From a luxury standpoint, you probably get about 65% for about 50% of the price.

So, from a comfort and performance perspective or performance and comfort perspective, it looks like you get about 75% of a 7 series for half off.

What I don't like is that the US models are governed at 126 while the Euro models get 155.

Why buy a 300c over a 7 series when you can buy THIS beauty for a fraction of the cost

Now while I dont like the people telling me how to drive, and people imposing restictions on my driving, I have to ask "are you serious?"

By going 126 in that thing you are doing nothing but trying to kill yourself, or at least seeing how close you can get. No road that I know of in the US allows speeds like that. And this obviously isn't a car made for the track, so there is NO NEED to go any faster than 100 in it, even going that fast is just for Shitts-and-giggles.

I've never driven over 100mph (give or take 5-6mph) in any car since I've been driving (20+ years now).

Outside of a track (obviously the 300C is no track car), I don't think 126mph is too bad.

I don't think there are many times when you need to exceed 126 either. However, I have had two times in my life when it was necessary and I was glad to have the capability. Not sure I would be here if my vehicle would have been limited as is the Chrysler.

Why does BMW bother to limit the speed to 126mph? What's the logic? 125 is ok, but hey, 135 is just dangerous?? How does this help anyone?
