since when? last cars i financed were in 05 and i dont remember that, but when your talking thousands i guess its easy to look past.

Effective July 1, 2003, all retail sales, leases and transfers of motor vehicles are subject to the additional sales tax (or use tax) of three-tenths of one percent (0.3%).

when you bought your car in 2005, you either didn't think about it, overlooked the sales tax, or the dealership lied to you.
