Very nice.

The BMW is larger than the VW, the Volvo, and the Pontiac so lets cross those off the list. What were left with is the MB and the Audi A4. bot of them arent even folding hardtops and they're still pretty heavy. Is there a point?
Yeah, to compare cars that are all more or less in the same class as the BMW. They're not all perfectly comparable, but they're in the ballpark. My point was for the given power and size, BMW is not out of whack compared to everyone else.

Nice cheap shot vader!! lol.

And also i read in a caranddriver magazine a few months back that the next gen 3 series promises to be lighter. So i guess they're working on it now. I mean what else do they have to possible work on...

One cannot expect to be king forever in a segment of the auto industry but it seems they dont plan on giving up anytime soon. i hope they can pull this lighter 3 off sucessfully for a good price.

i figured... i just saw the opportunity for a low blow and took it whats crooked?

regarding the weights... an E46 M3 Convertible is 400lbs heavier than an E46 M3 Coupe... so thats expected... if anything, this is a hardtop and the E46 had a softtop...
You should really have an S on your chest Iceman. you saved the day. the most valid argument on this weight increase thus far.

Looks like another BMW with an ugly nose, but I will add that they are getting less ugly as they progress.

It seems like the topic of discussion is shifting a bit here, but yeah weight is an issue. In fact BMW has openly admitted to the press in recent years that it's concerned their cars are getting to heavy. I think they are in a rock between a hard place though, since they are in a field where more features is one of the things the target audience is looking for. Eventually all the gadgets start to weigh things down.

Aside from that, this new convertible looks beautiful to me.

They just need to release light, performance oriented versions at somewhat reasonable prices. The M3 CSL doesn't count as it was wayyyy to expensive. I don't mind if they create land yachts as long as they create some enthusiast oriented cars too.
