Nope not yet... Its on standard settings.... Im 11 stone and it feels pretty firm.
Its on my list of things to do but first is to get the clutch sorted.... then the brake pads swapped out and some new tires... Its a money pit alright!

What's up with the clutch then?

Snatchy, slippy??

It's not anything to do with it being a dry clutch and feeling different to what you're used to?

Its hard to explain, but if you let the lever out normally it bites on the very first bit of lever travel which is fine, however if you continue to let the lever out slowly then there is no bite at all then it suddenly bites.. its like the centre part of the lever travel has no bite to it. The guy in the shop said it wasn't right and they gave it a good old clean out and replaced a seal in the slave cylinder.. They said it was leaking slighty... It was fine for a bit now back to how it was before... this will be the 3rd time the clutch has been out in 1500 miles....

Its fine changing up and down the gears and the slipper clutch works great its just pulling away.... I know there is a knack for using slipper clutches but this just isn't right. a friend has a 748R with slipper clutch in and the guy in the shop has a 749R also with a slipper clutch.. Both of them said it wasn't quite right.....

nice bike and nice mods you got

i had a 748 before and it always bothered me to see oil leak from stock oil breather.... shop told me its pretty normal/common for 748's lol so i replaced them with aluminum oil breather.

i did lots of DIY on my duc...
will jump on another duc sometime in the future.

Update:
The problem with the clutch was a worn internal spring. Also the clutch fitted to the early ducati 749R's were more race oriented and not actually that good for road use. They said the first 300 or so had this clutch.. my bike was 169.. I'm not that mechanical but the guy said it was something to do with the degrees of the ramps making the clutch a lot more aggressive. Ducati got a lot of complaints from early owners... so much so they offered a replacement slipper clutch with less aggressive ramp angles which was from the 748R... and this could be done on warranty. The slipper clutches have greased ramps with no ball bearings in.. So they need taking apart and re-greasing... occasionally to keep the clutch moving freely and in tip top working order.... I was also getting false neutrals while going up and down the box... this was also due to the worn spring and the ramps needing some grease.

Well I decided to upgrade the race clutch to a ball bearing ramped ducati performance one made by Bucci.... This is a lot smoother for road use and the best clutch for the bike... old slipper clutch so will be putting that on ebay... along with a few other bits....

Fitted new front and rear brake pads.. These were low after my track day.....
New MPL clutch Slave cylinder fitted.. Clutch is a lot lighter now.
Pazzo levers fitted
brakes and clutch fluids changed.
Slipper clutch replaced
New ducti oil filler plug.. had to add a little more bling...

bill from ducati
