Default 749R

Last weekend after a quick ride around on a 750 Super sport belonging to a friend I decided to bite the bullet and get the 749R out the Stable.... The bike had been on trickle charge since the shop delivered it to my parents house a few weeks ago. I had only briefly sat on the bike to move it. I was a little nervous as I hadn't ridden anything for 18 months since my accident... I was stronger then due to all the wakeboarding and bike riding.. and I was worried about dropping the bike on its side... Bikes are dead weight moving them around, it felt very heavy and the patio was slippery under foot which didn't help. I was very careful and took my time getting the bike out. The Carbon fairings would be a nightmare to get hold of and cost a fortune to replace! Time to hit the gym I think..

I headed out into the New Forest and I was really enjoying the bike. The only problem was the clutch wasn't working properly.. I tried various methods of pulling away .. It was really hard not to stall the bike... It was changing up and down the gears fine it was just when pulling away in 1st I had the problem.

I phoned up Motorapdio where I had originally bought the bike from and they said its a slipper clutch you just have to get used to it... Yeah right... I am not a mechanic but this was nigh on impossible to pull away quickly.. the bike would chatter when pulling away and there seemed to be an area where the clutch wasn't biting at all. if you carried on letting the lever out it would then suddenly bite and the bike would stall or lerch forward! It was a complete nightmare and not helping my confidence.

I left the car at the folk

Bike talk is that way ------>

wear your gear all the time I wrecked driving into a ditch on a curvy road at 30mph and it wasn't fun, luckily my bike just "plopped" in the soggy ground while I rolled on the asphalt before going into the mud

"Hey Christople, you're not bleeding!"

*wipes mud*

"Ohhh "

luckily I had my helmet, gloves, jacket, boots, but i just wore jeans... where i scraped my knee a tad
