ac and heater usage

Turning on your lights at night also decreases your gas mileage.

On the same episode, they showed that following a truck that blocks the air in front of you would also save you gas, not that I would recommend it though.

that is proven by me! i have done it! lol

turning the ac on makes my car slower it sucks

im more interested in the difference btwn using the low setting and the full blast setting

I thought heater doesn't use gas.

Using the heater definitely does not change the engine load or have a direct effect on MPG. Pretty soon A/C might not either. I know for a fact GM and Nissan use A/C systems that are not attached to the engine. My brother's 04 XTerra, and the Pontiac GTO, both use beltless A/C units. They seem to work just as good too. It's great turning those things on without the associated power drain.

This is not true. Everything is powered by the cumbustion of gasoline, directly or indirectly.
