Default Accord or A4??

As you guys know, I'm looking for a new car. Over the weekend my wife and I checked out a few cars. We narrowed it down to a Accord V6 or a A4 1.8T quattro. My wife is dead set on the Accord. I'm going toward the A4. The Accord is less expensive, reliable, cool DVD nav, nicer seats, I think uses regular unleaded, more powerful, and I have a good relationship with the Honda dealer. The A4 is better looking, quattro, free maintenance, funner to drive, easy to mod, and more distinctive. On the negative side the Accord is bland and boring to drive and the Audi has questionable reliability and not sure if the warranty is good if I chip it? I would like to know what you guys think.

Sam

The Audi is a great car for a lease in my opinion, you keep it for 3-4 years and get rid of it before the problems start. It is an Elegant car and great looking. The accord is just a little more practical and not nearly as sporty to drive. The new accord is plush but on a different level than the audi, IMO. If you are paying and she is driving, get the accord, If you are paying and you are driving???? tough call, I would go with the audi... I think.......?

stock vs. stock- the accord v-6 with a 6-spd(coupe only) will easily take an A4 1.8T. but, i figure u are looking at the sedan.

personally, i would go for the accord. its a better sedan than the a4, u really don't need awd in san diego, and the quality of the a4is mediocore(when compared to the accord). besides, the new a4 weighs like 3800lbs. no matter how much u tune it, u can't really compensate for that.

besides, i would think u already get your "go fast crack pipe" from the s2k, and the c32 amg.

After driving both, I have to say without a doubt go for the accord. Much better car IMO and cheaper to boot!

Get the A4! There is no question in my mind that it is a much nicer car than the Honda. But make sure you get the sport package with the upgraded alloy wheels -- that really makes all the difference.

Go with the A4, the Accord has no character at all imo.

I am in the same boat - except we were looking at the A4 3.0.

We went through many of the same arguments for and against each, but decided on the Accord primarily because of the value. The EX-V6 with Nav offers some incredibly nice features for the $.

How about throwing in another option into this picture?

Acura TSX
I think this looks much better than the Accord and isn't so bland.
Not sure when it becomes available.
It should be priced about the same as the A4
