Absolutely right. If you take a disk, a sphere and a teardrop shape all having the same frontal area it will take more energy to keep the disk moving than the sphere, and more to keep the sphere going than the teardrop.

This resistance is not a function of mass. The kinetic energy of the bike, however is. With respect to wind resistance, mass comes into play only if the energy source is removed (throttle shut).

I think our friend the spelling bee champ's intuition told him that mass played a part here somewhere. I applaud of him for being curious enough to be thinking about it at all.
