another S4 vs. S2K thread..
hi all. i've been reading posts here for a few months now after gaining interest in the S2000s.. and once the snow comes and melts here, i plan on getting one of my own. since i want my first new car, i'll probably get an '05. however. there is always a voice in my head that speaks of the S4. i've done some homework on the Audis too (and spent a weekend in a chipped 2000 when i went to the USGP), and have read all about their mechanical shortcomings. i love everything the S4 has to offer.. truckoads of early torque, superb interior, all the amenities.. but i'm still wanting an S2000.
i guess i'm just curious if anyone out there has anything helpful they can tell me. incliment weather is an issue here in Wisconsin. right now i have the 92 Talon AWD..and i plan to dump it once i buy the new car..if i'm going to spend 30K+ on a car, i'm going to drive it year-round. if i got an Audi, i'd probably get a 2001.5, or a 2002.. Audi Certified, of course..with all the warranties they can throw at it. i think i would just feel safer with the S4 on Snow \ Pouring Rain.
argh.. dammit, i can't make up my mind. someone hit me with a brick of knowledge.

i really did have a stiffy for the Evo. coming from the DSM community, i know a good deal about them. and while the Evo is a road-rocket.. i can give up some of the speed and power for the interior and options.
one thing i just found out.. insurance costs.
i'm 23.. none tickets, none accidents, full coverage..
S2000 = 270\mo
S4 = 150\mo
that's a savings of roughly $1400 a year for the Audi.

I never drive my S in winter and usually use my wife's car during the cold months. The 2 cars are quite different and really can not be accurately compared. They offer different levels of comfort, power, looks and price. If you want a fun summer car with good power and killer handling, the S2000 is your car. If you're looking for refined power with back seats then the S4 is a great choice.
Good luck.
Good luck.

The reasons hes comparing is because there the two cars he wants, ... Any two cars can be compared... I can compare a lambo to a Hyundai if you want me to.
S4 with warranties is good. No warranty, no good.
Problem is, A stock S4 is pretty crap, and once u start tuning, audi says "NONO" and takes away your warranty. And they watch the S4 like a hawk...and know all the tricks, including how to turn on a chip that has been turned off for "Dealer mode". So id be carefull with that.
Good luck, i loved my s4, and love my s2k. If ure a year round driver, and have snow, get the s4. I cant imagine how shitty the S2k is in snow.
