Default Any Buell fans?

I've got the black X1 in the picture. I ride about 10k miles a year on it but I'm looking at picking up another bike next spring. I'm thinking of going with an EBR 1190SX if I can find someone to insure me or a friend's speed triple if he gives me a good deal on it. Any love for the Buell/EBR?

I have a black and orange buell firebolt 1200cc. It isn't a bad bike handles really well and gets a lot of looks. I managed to pick up ecm spy for mine with a race tune it added alittle more acceleration. I cannot really compare a buell to any bike I have ridden.

I have Buell foot pegs on my Honda, does that count?

I have respected the different path Buell took to build a sport bike, but have no experience with them.

Nice. The last models that Buell was putting out had a crazy short wheelbase and rake so they can change directions very fast. I'd love to own an XB9S some day as my city bike. 984cc and still gets 50+mpg.

I rode a late model Blast for a day once. I was not a fan of the vibration at idle but it was a torquey bike around town.

Harley made Buell produce that bike for them for new rider training. They didn't want anything that "entry level" with a Harley badge on it. Buell disliked that bike so much that they crushed it and released it as a limited edition Buell Cube. This was right before the shutdown when they were producing some seriously good machines such as the 1125r/cr(if a bit ugly).

I had a 2000 Buell M2 Cyclone with the 1200cc non-counter-balanced Sportster motor. Bought it for $400, not running, from a guy's backyard a day before he was moving out of the house. Got it running a few days later with some carburetor parts from the local Harley dealer. I was pleasantly surprised by the low cost of the parts compared to Japanese bikes, however, the bike did have some build quality issues. I rode it to Daytona Biketoberfest and it ALMOST made it all the way home until the battery broke its plates in a gas station, luckily I brought a backup battery due to this issue happening before. The bike ate 3 batteries in total, luckily I purchased a battery with an 18-month warranty. The company ended up sending me a heavy duty battery for the 3rd battery which worked much better than the standard duty ones.

Overall, the bike had amazing front brakes (6-piston caliper, that's right, one caliper in the front) and worthless rear brakes. Bike rode very nicely on the highway but the vibrations totally sucked around town. I ended up selling it for $2500 to a guy at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show. I bought the bike because it had some neat engineering such as a plastic gas tank, belt drive, horizontal rear shock, barrel key and engine simplicity. I wasn't a fan with the carburetor mounting nor was I a fan of the intake manifold seals that fail every 2 years due to poor mounting design and excessive head and vibration.
