hey all. im actually writing about my 98 legacy l wagon 5 spd... it has the 2.2l.

i have a few problems with the car and i have tried various options for solutions but to no avail...so i will list them below...i dont think they are specific to this car so hopefully someone may be able to help..thanks in advance

1. the rear end bounces over small sharp bumps. (almost like a rattling..but more of a vibration). im assuming this is the shocks...no idea when they were last replaced.

2. we had a new clutch recently installed. since then, the car seems to vibrate alot on downshifts...as if the car was being lugged. also, it has hillholder..which is nice..but with all my other manual cars, you could engage first without any gas...to do it with this, it shakes like a mother and does not want to. this problem was only after the clutch was installed.

3. the car hesitates until around 3k...then you can feel the "power" (ha) of the motor kick in..im assuming this is nothing big..perhaps i need to clean some of the intake components.

it just had the 120k though and i thought that the service might solve number 3.

OH and do any of those fuel system cleaners work? heard some mixed things...thanks again

Tough to diagnose problems on the internet, but it seems like you've noticed several problems that could well be related both timing and symptom wise to the clutch replacement. If that replacement was warrantied, I'd go back and get this stuff worked out before you run out of warranty.

If no warranty, you need to get whoever did the replacement to go back in and make sure everything was installed properly.
