My dad just got rid of his. He had a 97 SC400 that he bought used as a CPO Lexus. . He owned it for 3 years and about 40,000mi, and he never had to replace anything but oil and tires.
The SC400 is a phenominal car. That 4.0l 4-cam V8 is a gem. It's a very quick car in a straight line. It's no sports car, but it is sporty and fun to drive (even with the automatic). And the comfortable suspension tuning is ideal for daily driving. If I ever had to drive an 800mi straight road trip in a car, this is the one I would want to do it in - super comfy, driver-oriented, all the ammenities, powerful, and quiet. My dad's was a light crystal blue color that really brought that car's amazing lines. Whenever I drove that car, I always got more stares than I do when I drive my bright red S2000. The SC400 is a beatiful, rare car, and prices for them have become very reasonable - especially considering that they cost over $50,000 when new.

I would be putting about the same level of use on one, and I want something that's more upscale than my current steed (not that its unreliable or anything, it's just getting old).
I'm glad to hear that these cars are generally solid after more than a decade of use. I'm thinking of gettng a 94-95 example. The 97+ cars tend to shoot up faster in price, probably because of the higher-hp engine.
