Default Anyone considering new Boxster (Coupe)

How many of you are thinking about / keeping an eye on the new Boxster (and upcoming Boxster Coupe)? From what I've read, it looks like Porsche really upgraded the car. The S2000 was a hair better (in my opinion) than the old Boxster - but the new car may walk away from the S2000. I expect to see some nice comparison tests this summer.

I know I'm interested in the Boxster Coupe .. but I don't know if it'll be worth the $$. I figure it'll be a $60k car by the time I option it the way I'd want it.

only if they put in the TT engine and make it $60k..

260 HP/$60k is ghey nowadays when accords have 260HP and 425HP can be had for $39k (300C SRT8)

Nope. I like them, but there are other cars I like a lot better for a lot less (and more).

What's "ghey" is people who judge sports cars based on horsepower numbers, without regard for (or comprehension of?) handling. Go buy that Accord if that's all you're looking for.

Also, get your facts straight. The base Boxster will have 240 hp and will ring in around $44k-$45k, and the Boxster S will have 280 hp and will be around $53k-$54k. Coupe specs and prices have not yet been announced.

I would get one if the coupe is priced lowered than conv. It will be a better alternative than m3 without the back seats.

What about they drop in the 3.6L 320hp engine?

IMO the BS coupe is great but if it's so very close to the price of the Z06 it's gonna be hard to justify especially since the Z06 won't weigh a lot more (if any).

The M3 is gona be a 400hp V8 but it'll weigh a lot more.
