Anyone Have Experience with A Mercedes C230?
I was looking into picking up a 2005 Mercedes C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan. They're extremely affordable and great on gas, automatic gets 24 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway. With the Benz warranty to 50K miles it seems like a great car all around. I know it's not great in terms of performance but I'm looking for a car to get me AWAY from car modding, lol.
How is the reliability / maintenance after 50K miles?
The only mods I might do are xenon headlights, 1" drop springs, and maybe some window tint.

A friend of mine had one, and it was a nice ride IMO.
I believe she didn't have any problems with the car during the ownership.(not too sure of the mileage but she didn't buy it new, so I'm thinking somewhere around 40k miles)
Steering feel and ride was solid, but wasn't too impressed with the acceleration.
Overall, a nice car for sure.

Borrowed my friends for a couple days, pretty spacey for its size...atleast compared to my S .Steering felt responsive and i thought acceleration was decent you just couldn't feel it through the car...kinda just look down at the speedometer and your doing 60mph without noticing and I got it to 125mph without a hitch.
Personally I would look into one if i needed a DD

Okay thanks for the responses yeah I'm just looking for something that I won't sink a crap load of $ into and something that's good on gas, and good handling, etc. And you can't beat the looks of the Kompressor Sport Sedan, IMO. With the stock 17" wheels, etc.

Definitely a good ride as a DD.

I normally get a C230 Sprort as a loaner whenever I take my wife's R350 into dealership. Although I won't be able to talk about reliability of this car, I can tell you that it's a pretty nice ride. Pretty sporty as well. Good luck!

Just get a good deal on it and if you drive it easy and get rid of it before it has too many miles you probably won't have any major issues. The reputation MB gets reliability wise is well deserved but primarily applies to their more expensive/complex models.
