I didn't say there are NO members here who have traded their S2000 for the Solstice, MX5 or Sky, I said there will not be too many.
So what have you traded your S2000 for? Why didn't you answer the original poster's question of why you switched? Why not help the guy out instead of withholding your opinions? You may be one of the few people here who can help him.

I've also, never said that you were wrong about not many ppl here switched.
I just gave an example of myself.
I traded for an Evo. Not exactly comparable to a roadster.

I drove an S2000 for a year and sold it while stationed in Korea in 2004.
Prior to that, I had a '99 Miata that was lost in a flood.
I sold the S2000 because I couldn't take it to Korea with me and didn't want to make payments on a vehicle that I couldn't drive.
Upon returning from Korea last February, I was pre-approved for a 40K car loan and chose to purchase a '93 Miata that was maintained by a retired mechanic.
Yes, I miss the S2000 in many ways, not least of which is the amazing gearbox, engine and chassis. However, the Miata puts a smile on my face unlike any other vehicle south of what I can afford or have driven.
For me, anyway, it's the steering feedback, tossability, balance and openness of the cockpit that makes the Miata a joy to drive. It also helps to have the second best shifter in the business.
Is there another S2000 in my future? I have no idea, but I will, undoubtedly, have fond memories of a car that will be desirable for many years to come.

I've thought about selling my S2000 and buying an old, cheap Miata.
Doubt I will personally ever do it. But, I drive the S2000 so rarely anymore it seems sort of wasteful to just leave it sitting in the garage, depreciating.
Makes more sense to have a $5k Miata as a toy than a S2000, but I really like the S, so it stays for now.

Quality, style, handling...are not the words I would use to describe a "GM" product. Unless, of course, we are talking about a Z06. Then I guess one could probably use the words...style and handling.
their cars.
Personally, nothing Gm made in the past or the present attracts me, not even
the Z06.

Why would anyone want to downgrade?
Could be many factors. Style, change, finances, GM, car stolen, wrecked and so forth. Just because you don't see the need, others might.
