Anyone have any experience with the Ariel Atom?
I have no means to buy one right now but I feel like its an amazing car.

Particularly any experience of it as a street car?
Do you think it can be driven to work once a week on that perfect weather day or to the grocery store (to pick up something small that'll fit in the car, lol)

My question really is... is it just as fun to drive on the streets as on a roadcourse?

Absolutely. I don't see how it would be any different than riding a crotch rocket or cruiser. I'd love to have one.

there is 0 financing through the dealer which is a bummer. But like st4rk said I cannot see how it would be any different than riding a bike.

I tried Hagerty. They were willing to finance a Honda NSX Type-R, but not an Atom

A guy in Oklahoma who has 2 told me his 300-hp s/c GM Atom makes a great streetcar but his 245-hp n/a Honda Atom is a better track car.

I would think it would be almost as fun as a sportbike for daily transportation (nothing is as much fun as a bike!), but if you get rained on, a bike would be better because of the helmet/visor and or rainsuit that bikers tend to carry, plus bikes seem to be made to handle the weather with respect to switches/connectors and whatnot.

I wouldn't drive one w/o a helmet and for 50k it better be wet weather capable. If someone could produce something similar for 30k I'd be all over it. A big go-cart of sorts.

I'd love to pick up a Caterham R500 one day.

Try JJ Best Banc for financing. If they can't find you financing for an Atom, probably no one can.
