Seems like an old article (it mentions the S660 concept, which just went into production)... and I would hope that the car would have more than 250 hp (10 more than the previous car?). Other than that, the artist renderings are decent and certainly evoke the styling language used in the NSX and other recent Honda concepts (Type-R).

At this time I think there's a good possibility that we see a S660 variant with a slightly more powerful 1000cc turbocharged engine, possibly called the S1000. With the recent announcement of the Civic Type-R, I think there is hope of a revived S2000 vehicle, but I won't be holding my breath.

When I saw the S660 concept it just brought back sore point that S2000 was never remade

Don't know why the Type R would have any effect on the S2000 being made though, unless they planned to remake the S2000 but make it a FWD

There was a great April Fools presser several years back for an S3000. Debuting with an F30C, inline 6, 3L, 360hp. One can dream, right?

Tried finding a link to the old April fools gag, but no luck...

10 more horse power than previous car, but it could be much lighter than the previous car.
Would be nice for Honda to reintroduce a rwd car that was affordable. I'm kinda holding breath.

I'm hoping Honda does NOT reintroduce the S2000. Values of used models, the cars we're all driving, will plummet. Miatas are cheap 'cuz they made a million of them and they're still coming off the assembly line.

Civic R? Sure. Lots of coupes out there.

They won't. Its the original car. Take a look at the E30. Are prices depreciating? The E36, E46, E92 came out after it.

Cars like my allroad will deprecate. The B8 allroad was at the dealership and the C5 prices plummeted.

Well the inference is that if Honda is making the Type R (as well as the NSX), then they are getting back into producing sporty cars, and the S2000 was certainly a big part of Honda's "sports car" image.

I'm not really sure that this would be true... as it stands, its not like the S2000 was an overly rare vehicle. It was in production for 10 years and other than the CR's, were produced in large numbers. I think there will always be a significant market for a simple, powerful, RWD roadster and I wouldn't mind taking a hit on my resale value if it meant that Honda was making a new S.

These are kinda my thoughts as well. If, and its a huge if, Honda ever makes another S2K, it will be a very different car from the one we all know and love. I think the days of a simple, lightweight, barebones, high revving, 4 cyl S2000 are done with. The next car will probably be heavier, have a turbo engine, and tacked on nav/bluetooth/heated seats/etc and come with an auto/flappy paddle transmission as standard (I hope a 6 speed is optional). That's the way the car industry as a whole has gone, and with the exception of the Miata, everyone else has followed that recipe.
