Audi S4 or keep S?
Currently thinking about trading my s2000 for a 2002 audi S4. Here are my thoughts on it:
S2000 Pros:
-Faster
-Handles Better
-Convertible
-Head turner, looks a lot nicer
S2000 Cons:
-Maintenance problems
-Storage space
-Harsh daily driver (not for me, but compared to others)
-Garaged for the winter (thus the reason for a 2nd car)
S4 Pros:
-Can be faster easily
-Quattro AWD means I can get rid of my 95 Audi 90
-Great daily driver
-Cheaper insurance
-Less miles
-Comfort features (climate control, heated seats, etc...)
S4 Cons:
-Audi reliability
-Gas mileage???
That's just a quick list from the top of my head. I just want to know everyone's oppinion. Feel free to add to the list. Thanks.

Is having 2 cars a financial burden on you? I know it is actually cheaper for me to have 1 nice car and 1 beater than just 1 mediocre car. The S4 is a nice looking car though, but the handling deffinately seems to be lacking when you attept to push it. You should deffinately go test drive some before thinking any further about this.
The S4 will not be reliable if you mod it. Most stock s4 are fairly reliable, but boost is addictive. Gas mileage is actually pretty good. With exhaust and intake it gets better. I usually got 22-24mpg with 50% city and 50% highway driving. I also had a chip which might have leaned out the fuel curve. I sold my S4 and S2000 because of their short-comings. The S4 was not reliable and I noticed the plastics and pneumatic hoses used in the engine bay were cheap and ripped all the time causing boost leaks. My clutch went out after 30k miles and turbos soon after that and I do not drive hard. The S2k was a fun car to drive but a little too impractical for me. You if you are not happy with the S2k and want a 4-door sporty car I'd stay away from any used German car.

I agree. I put about 1000 miles on a 2005 (B6) S4, and it's a great car. It has a lot more power than a stock B5, it feels more solid, and the sound out of the V8 is impressive. It's not tossable like an S2000 due to the weight, but the AWD is very useful when you want to lay on the throttle coming out of a corner. The torque comes on strong around 3200, although the power seems to taper off after 5000, unlike an S2000 that crescendoes until almost redline.
If I needed a sedan, I'd be driving a B6 S4.

I'm looking for a used s4 around the same price i could get for my s2000, so a B6 S4 is out of the question (being more then double the price of what i'm looking for).
Security is not an issue either, i have a decent alarm system that would go in it.
I'm just looking for something a little less pricey (then the s2000), a good daily driver, something i could also drive in the winter, and also something fun (read: fast). The S4 has all these things that i'm looking for.

Having owned 2 Bi-turbo S4's i can tell you that they make horrible daily drivers. Comfortable and fast they are but they are far from reliable. I purchase both new and sold both relatively quickly after being in the shop multiple times for issues that made them undrivable.
