Default audi s5

currently i am looking for audi s5, and not sure if i should get a manual tranny or an automatic. only reason that im considering automatic is that after i drove current m3 with an automatic tranny, it feels as good as driving a manual. if anyone has s5, or drove both tranny and compare to bmw's gear box, it'll be greatly appreciated.

i want comparison between s5 vs m3, m5.

also, if anyone know the difference between 09 models and 10, it'll be great!

I haven't driven one of the newer auto trannies yet (with dual clutch etc etc) just the +/- on older automatic cars.

I think the biggest part of driving a manual for me is the clutch/revmatch/fast shift action so I don't think an auto with paddle shifters would be comparable (to me)

It's considered polite to not to vent your general opinions on a car when the guy is asking a very specific question, especially when your opinion is just trashing his potential car choice.

i'd definitely choose the manual, Audi hasn't incorporated their DSG in that chassis yet.

I love S5's, they're beautiful cars!!

thanks for all the inputs, i've only driven a5s and i know that gti comes with dsg, and audi is owned by vw, so i thought dsg tranny is already in the car. if dual clutch is not in s5, i can only hope to find good condition s5 with manual.

You can't compare the torque converter automatic in the s5 to the dual clutch trans in the m3. I've drive a manual s5 on the track and it was a pretty solid gearbox/clutch combo, if it were my money I'd go with the manual.
