samething when my friend asked me, why am i spending 15k on my s2000....

i can just buy a new M3..

same here, my friends ask my why you spent 25k in the s2000 when you can have a M3 or a fast evo or wrx sti.

my answer. Because the s2k is the car that i WANT to make fast, not just any car, just to be fast.

Exactly. I sold a lot of cars like that to get back into an S2000. the S2000 is what most others aren't... Unique. Besides that I have 10 years history (in August) in an S2000 now. Hell, I could be in any sub $100,000 car I wanted right now honestly and I pick the S2000 and I will stick with it for a long time. at least until a unique new little gem comes around.

I really don't care if there is something *newer* *eliter* *faster* *cooler* out there at all.

I'm at the point where you separate from the rat race and just enjoy the car you really like.

I didnt even include the motor mounts from Hasport that took him a YEAR for them to make for him. I'm sure they didn't make it for free. The mounts currently run about 300-500. For the first mounts, I'm sure they cost more.
Thanks. I don't know how much all those parts cost, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them reaching the original cost of the Fit. Add in labor for whatever you don't DIY, and it adds up quick!

Pick a number between $25K and 45K, and I can think of plenty of other cars I've rather have. I think Fits are cool, but part of their appeal (to me, at least) is in being a cheap, economical beater.

Everyone and their mother has a wrx or evo with 15k thrown at it. Same thing with almost all popular performance cars both import and domestic. The guy just wanted to be different. And I still doubt he paid 40k. I could build that fit for 20k including the car, then again I do my own work mostly.
