Default Base 370z or E46 M3?

Let's say both cars had the same miles and were the same price. What car would you get and why?

370z, don't want *insert random BMW problem* or M3 Subframe problems.

Then again, you couldn't pay me money to drive either so

370z are frakin nice man, i would get that over the m3 cause of the cost of maintance and i think they look nicer and wont break down and have a million problems down the road...

If i was rich i would buy the m3 cause i could afford to deal with the problems that they have.

370z, like its proportions and design better. Scared of bmw maintenance just in case something goes wrong. Would buy neither as a second car but would buy a 370 as a dd.

M3...more bang for buck. One thing I don't like about 370z is major road noise

370Z. Similar performance, newer, probably less expensive to maintain, decent aftermarket support, more focused.

Still, I'd love to own either one, as long as I wasn't tracking them. 370Z has had some serious cooling issues and they both have big (rim diameter and width) tires that are expensive to replace.

road noise, not the smoothest engine, and garbage truck shifter/clutch action would make this car pretty much last on my list for a DD...I even took it on 24 hr test drive and put about 100 miles on it...backfired on the sales guys because in that time, I realized there was no f'ing way i could live with the car.
But to each his own...if the NVH and shifter don't bother you, it would be a solid pick.

Given an M3's maintenance costs, the 370z would be the obvious pick here for me. That said, I haven't driven either car.

And Garbage truck shifter? Give me a break.
