I have to limit myself on that site. Or I can spend all day on it I think it drives unreasonably high prices for stuff but I still find myself perusing for way too long when I go on there!
I think the idea for a thread to post cars of occasional interest is a good idea, even if it is just for entertainment. I echo others, I used to look more often, signed up for an account but have yet to bid on anything. I was looking at MR2 Turbos that could be fixed up a bit several years ago, but a couple low milers went for huge money and I gave up. I do look once in a while.
I also noticed that there are I think many wealthy people who just buy and sell for giggles. You see people post that they have bought and sold several cars in the comment section, I don't think much for investment. I knew a guy who was a client of my father's and he was worth several hundred million. He flew helicopters and planes and bought houses and yachts, but he still was always bored so he would buy and sell crap to have a hobby. He once bought some really old de-commissioned military submarine from some silly little country and then had the hardest time finding someone else to take it off his hands I was told. He got the idea from some magazine full of (dumb) ideas to make money.
I hope the rich get bored with cars and try NFT's or something else.
Yeah, I don’t know when the change happened but the cars on the site used to require a trailer because they were in rough shape.
still, I like to site and look at all sorts of things from luggage, Defenders, muscle cars and Porsches.
I'm in the same boat - stuff I see usually gets into bidding wars with what seems like rich, bored people looking to flip or add to their massive collection now.
I started spending more time on carsandbids.com just to see cool normal cars again.
