Default Best automatic?

What is the best car with automatic transmission to buy these days? I dont need it to be the fastest but not slowest neither. Fun to drive is needed. If S2000 was manumatic, then it would be it, but there aren't any other fun to drive automatic's out there that I know of except prelude, but they dont make them anymore. Under $30K, which one would you choose as daily driver and good fun to drive automatic with decent performance?

I would just get an S2k if you are looking for something around 30K... but in terms of automatic, get a 350Z touring package with auto..

Most german auto's (Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Audi) are pretty crisp shifting and usually have steering wheel control.

For under 30K?? You could probably get an Audi A4 1.8T, BMW 325, or Mercedes 230, but none of those are good candidates for auto's due to engine power.

My c32 is pretty damn fast at shifting, however it "learns" your driving style which really screws thing up when you want to slow down after racing.

Maybe a Miata with automatic, some of the new MErcedes AMG cars have really nice autos but they are above $30K. The S2000 would be a crap car if it had automatic. Definately a manual car, it would be sooo much slower with an auto in it.

What about automatic Mazda RX8?

I mean it has 210 HP and 164 ft. lbs. with 4 speed shiftable gears. If you can get near redline, then it's good. And it has about 3000 lbs. so it shouldn't be too heavy either. What do ya guys think about Automatic RX8?

210 HP
164 ft.lbs.
3000 lbs.
4 speed auto
4 seater

The Toyota MR-S with the auto-manual. Perfect computer controlled blips when downshifting, although it's rather slow on the upshift.
