Best car to complement the S2000?
I'd like another car to go with the S2000. I also have a Jeep, so I don't necessarily need practical. I just want something fun, able to share DD duties with the S2000, and @ $40K.
So far I've considered a C5 Z06, M5, E46 M3, 996 C2, G35, and NSX.
Anything else I should look at?

E46 ///M3. if think about it they have a lot in common. high strung inline motors, not alot of TQ, and a drivers car. sure the M can be optioned as a cruiser, but it can also be set up for go.
i'd love to have have a carbon grey, or a laguna blue E46 next to my S2 every night.

I'd either
A) get something totally different than the S (like a 'vette or 996), no reason to have two high-strung two seaters
B) Get rid of the S and buy something REALLY nice for S + $40k; say a 997/996C4S/987S/Cayman or ZO6
or
C) keep the S and get a track toy; $40k gets you a very competitive spec Miata, and a tire, etc, budget for a few seasons.
There's also option D), sell the S and buy a REALLY sweet track toy, like an Atom or Exige, but that means you drive the Jeep full time on the street.

I test drove a 987S and loved it, but I don't want to give up my S for it. I think I'd rather have the S and another car than one *nicer* car
Track toys are tempting, but time is the biggest problem. Whether I spend $5K on a Miata or $50K+ on an Exige, I wouldn't have as much time to take it to the track as a like. Plus, I only drive the Jeep when I really have to (ie. bad weather, trips to Home Depot, etc.)
