BEST DOWNGRADE?
Ive been on these forums for a little while now and seen lots of threads asking for potential upgrades and suggestions for upgrades from the S2000 to a new car but have not seen anything about the reverse.
Given the current economical conditions many people have to let go of their S2000s or whatever luxurious/sports car for more practical car. Just curious to see suggestions of a possible downgrade yet still enjoyable fun car compared to S2000. I would say judging by the sale threads an avg S2k will prob go for 18k say take you are left with 5-6k what kind of car will everyone buy???
I think an older Miata will prob be best bet, or maybe an MR2? lol curious to see what people think

I think a Miata is a good option, but it is very small, even compared to the S2000.
The Solstice/Sky is an under the radar option imo - good power and more room, but oddly engineered and it has no real trunk.
Other options would be a used WRX/STI/EVO for fun but more utility, Mazdaspeed3, GTI/GLI, some of the other hot hatches...

With around $25K, if I were looking for something new, I'd go with one of the BRZ/FR-S twins. Fun to drive and offers up the illusion of seating for four. Practical track toy as well with space for a set of wheels and tools.
