Default Best sounding car on the road?

I was reading Daniel F. Carney's book "Honda S2000" and I noticed he makes this statement, "The Corvette's rumble and the S2000's scream each have their attractions, but the Boxster has been widely recognized as the best-sounding car on the road."

I'm not trying to start a Boxster vs S2000 war, nor am I trying to put down the Boxster in any way, but anyone agree or disagree with this statement?

What's the best sounding car (in stock form) on the road today?

Having owned a Boxster S, I can say that it's the best sounding car I've ever experienced from the inside -- it sounds way cooler than the S2000. From outside of the car, however, it's way too quiet be the best.

I think the best sounding car out there is the current Porsche 911. The older air-cooled 911s sound cool at full throttle, but they sound like lawnmower engines at idle; the current 911 sounds awesome all the time. I bet it sounds awesome inside the car as well, but I've never ridden in one.

Never been a fan of the flat motor sounds.

5.0 Mustang + Borla exhaust (or a few others) minus the cats sounds the best to me ....

Ferrari owns in this department.

F355 w/ Tubi exhaust is best in my ears.

Closest thing to F1.

Absolutely.

I personally think Porsche's exhuast note is overrated. Don't get me wrong...Boxters/911s sound badass, but it doesn't send chills down your spine like a Ferrari 355 with Tubi exhuast does screaming towards redline.

An original 289 Cobra with sidepipes sounds pretty nice...
