I was at the Seattle motorcycle show a couple times this weekend and really liked the overall feel of the Triumph Speed Four.

Also really likes the riding position of the Ducati Monster.

Styling of both was sweet with the Triumph being a bit bolder/wackier and having a CRAZY Kermit green paint job and chrome "eyes."

Be careful w/ the Triumph; I've literally seen them fall apart on the showroom floor more than once.

For a good all around streetbike I would go with a 99-02 Suzuki SV650 or SV650S especially if you are just starting out. If you are stuck on starting with a supersport IMO you can't go wrong with a Honda F3 or F4i. Yamaha's YZF-600, not the YZF-R6, is another good one but has had some tranny issues in the past.

I have just purchased a 04 S2000. One of the main reasons I began to look at the Honda was my experience wih Honda motorcycles. I have a 99 VFR with about 20,000 miles on it. I still have an original 650 Hawk with 91000 miles on it, never had the head off! Any company that can build a performance piece to last like that demands my examination. The Intercepter does nothing perfect, but it does everyting. I am 57 years old, ride often 400-500 miles in a day and in a "spriteful" manner, chasing an occasion inexperienced Duc rider.

So far, I am equally as pleased with the S2000. The first article I read concerning the S2000 stated it felt like a four-wheel motorcycle, they were right.

PS, I also own a Honda Lawnmower!

As a general purpose street bike - nothing is better than a good road-oriented dual sport IMHO. I used to have an old (1988) Honda NX650 and that thing was great. It was great in trafic, it was great in the city, it was great on gravel roads and it was fun to explore with it. It was also very nice in the very twisty stuff. It was not great on the highway and could not keep up with sport bikes in the open road - but that's not where I ride anyway.

The most fun street bikes for my money are super-motards - nothing turns faster and makes you grin like an idiot.

That's why I now own a 1996 KTM Duke.
