Default Blazer electrical help?

I have a '96 Blazer, 4.3l. Battery discharges after sitting for several days. Will recharge by alternator.

Test meter shows 2.5 ampere draw, way too high. Bench tested alternator, O.K., diode good, charging, no shorts, etc. Pulled ALL fuses, and disconnected any connectors and relays that I could see, still drawing excess current. Also waited for ECU to power down.

Parasitic draw of clock, ECU, and radio presets should only be milliamps.

Any ideas? Driving me nuts!

Thanx.

Ken

Make sure you pulled all the fuses, there may be multiple fuse boxes, or some aftermarket accessory not part of the OEM wiring.

Moving to Car Talk, not S2000 related.

thanks, realized it was not s2k related, but tried anyway.

no aftermarket stuff, car completely stock, and ALL fuses pulled.

Possibly the starter?

Thanks.

Are there any circuits protected by a fuseable link?

Probably missed a fuse. Perhaps you have seperate fuse blocks?

Buy a 12 volt test light. Hook one end to the negative battery post and the other to the negative cable. Remove and replace fuses until the light goes out.
