Default BMW i3

Anyone see one of these cruising about? I think I've spotted 5, in last week. BMW must have had some kinda groovy XMAS sale going...

The tester in this report looks exactly like a driver I saw humming down Valley Blvd, near Noodle World.

I've seen one in Raleigh twice (same one I believe). Been a good 2 months since my last spotting though. Ugly ugly ugly!

In comparison I see 2-3 Model S's a day.

They had one parked in the mall here during the christmas season.
Really did not like the looks at all, and I am usually not very picky. Especially in the orange/black two tone...yuck.
Haven't seen one on the road yet.

It's such a shame how ugly these are. I saw my first i8 in person and I literally could not look away. Meanwhile I have seen a half dozen of these i3s now and I can hardly stand to look at them

I am totally digging this car and the interior layout, mix of textures and design is some of BMW's best ever. Just wish is was a gas... Very cool car IMO.

My co-worker has one. I'm actually quite surprised by how quick it is. I know it's an all electric motor, and the torque curve is completely flat, but experiencing it was something else. It definitely puts our S2K to shame off the line. And, since the entire car is carbon fiber, it's quite nibble too. He reports a range of about 90-100 miles. It's purely a commuter car for work use, anything else goes to one of the other cars he owns.

Oh, and the auto-parallel park feature is pretty cool to watch in action.

FYI it's torque curve isn't flat. The faster an electrical motor spins the less torque it makes. Pretty linear curve IIRC.

170BHP, I believe. These are not cheap cars. Base price around $43K.

Those skinny tires are even more ugly than the car. Very skinny tires for a SUV looking car.
