You can do ED on a Porsche too. I did it on my M3 and it was great. I'm trying to find an allocation for an M2 to do ED again this summer/fall.

Nope, not excited. Let me know when they make a 5 door M car and I will get excited. M cars are too expensive and too heavy anymore.

Don't forget the free oil dipstick you get with the Ford!

I know Porsche does ED as well, but with the M2 I could do ED in 2017, for the Porsche it would be 2018 at the soonest.

I love our new house, but "money pit" barely scratches the surface.

If I thought snow tires on an M2 would make a safe winter car (doubtfull) I could ED in 2017 and just buy used Boxster in 2018. I would love that combo but I think an M2 with snow tires would have way too much torque and be all over the road unless the computer has a special "neutered mode".

My current 328i is not that powerful and is X-drive AWD, but driving in "ECO" mode it goes through snow like a mofo. I have not driven a modern stability/traction controlled RWD car with power in snow. I don't know how good or bad they are. I hear people say they are perfectly fine, but I like to drive relatively quicker than most in the snow, and not be limping along white knuckling it in the right lane. If it is snowing out, I am generally passing everybody.

My understanding is that all the m2 cars are spoken for this year before they were built! I have just ordered a m3 and hope to get it within 90 days, will post a report on it then.

Amen to that. The M3/M4 are positively huge (dimensionally and in terms of weight) now and the M5/M6 are even worse.

I'm not super excited about the M2. It might be because it lacks the visual excitement of the 1-series M. I saw a 1M on the freeway this weekend, and it looked damn cool.

Does the M2 sound like the turbo M3? My neighbor has the M3, and I think my naturally aspirated straight-six X3 sounds better.
