I haven't gotten excited about a BMW in a long time, and with the M2, I think BMW is just splitting niches.

This. I built a 435i coupe online a couple days ago. Looked nice, etc, and the way I liked it it was ~$55k.

Later on I built a Mustang GT, which has 100+ more hp, plus the all-important ball chiller seats, and IMO looks better. It was $40k, with a realistic street price probably $5k lower than that. What's the premium for the BMW for? A badge, and less reliability? No thanks.

Are they at the dealer already? I went by BMW Sudbury, MA over the weekend and they looked to have one on the lost. There's so many BMW models it is hard to keep them straight.

the premium is for not having to drive a ford lol

also a regular 3/4 series isn't worth buying IMO, leasing however is pretty damn cheap.

I'll take the Ford and $20k in my pocket. I have no interest in leasing.

I saw the M2 in person at the auto show last weekend. Looked very good in person - a little "big" for my preference but considering what it is, it looks pretty tidy overall.

I'd drive one. Just not sure it's really that much different than an M3/M4 for only a moderate amount more.

Thinking about one. I'd prefer a Boxster/Cayman, but this would allow me to do another euro delivery which I would love the opportunity to do. As apposed to the Porsche, it comes with everything for $52k, you need to add another $25k for the Boxster/Cayman S model.

I looked at this about as close as I could when I was buying my M235. I decided not to go with the M2 because there was no way to be sure I would receive it this year. It seems the allotments were pre-ordered, the soonest I could expect one was the fall, and the price was going to be "market" because they sell them upon arrival for whatever they can get for them above sticker.

After hearing all of this, I decided that the discounted price I got on my 235i created a pretty good gap between the pricing of the two cars and that I would probably enjoy the adjustable suspension in the 235i which is my daily driver. If the company keeps making them and the pricing become more negotiable, I think they will be a great value. I'm really enjoying my 235i.
