Nope, I'm not really a modder. I want to keep the IX in good shape and unmodded so that it will hold its value.

Who is to say a car has or hasn't been modded? Do you know how many Evo's that have "never been modded" out there put back to stock over the course of a weekend and flashed back to the OEM map with a tactrix cable.

I'd love to buy a beat up one with an FP red on it, part it for stock parts and sell it as "never modded" for a premium. I'd also tell them my grandma drove it.

I think one can be reasonably sure of the 'never modded' claim by the overall condition of the car as well as judging the seller's trustworthiness, and even demographic. i.e. if I'm buying an ultra low mileage, spotless car from a 50 year old man, I can reasonably be sure of his claim that it's never been modded.


But you're right, can't know for sure 100%.
