Default BR-Z is...no S2000

I was in a BR-Z ...omg ...all the hype for this ...I know because of the setup this car will be a blast own and drive , but let me just say its NO S2000 . The S is over a decade old,it's so much more of a car in so many ways ...it's hard to put into words .
After being in and driving the BR-Z ...all I wanted was to get back to my S .The fun factor was there no question , although it seemed to be low rent , The S has none of that feel ...ever. As far as power , the car needs more ..it felt taxed at high RPMs and seemed to have poor response at low RPMs ...So I wasn't impressed at all . I was impressed the second I saw an S in real life , guess what after 8yrs of ownership ...its still impressing me ...No BR-Z owner on the planet will ever repeat those words . I'll never ever sell my S ...its in class of one IMO

I'll agree it is no S2000, but it is almost $10k cheaper than the S2000 would be if Honda still sold it. What else compares in the same price range?

^^^^^^ That is true. The only thing is a new WRX base, but its AWD not RWD. Not that I'd complain. I prefer to keep my S.

Really two different cars. The FRS/BRZ was meant to be an 'affordable' sports oriented car while the S was Honda's ode to sports cars.

I think for the money and what it was meant for, the FRS/BRZ is an exceptional car. It is not like the S2000 but it will be compared to it for years to come.

Other than being RWD four cylinder, the BRZ is not really comparable to a S2000. Its more like a RX8 or a Nissan 240 because it has back seats.

Maybe I don't get it, but why in the world are people comparing a 25K Entry level car with rear seats, to a 35K roadster which was Honda's "reasonable flagship" (under the NSX)?? I think the fact that they've even managed to get even relatively close to performance and driving excitement, for 10k less, says a lot about what Toyobaru have concaucted. But I'm sure if they made a 35K STi version which was 300hp boosted, we'd hear how uncomparable they are cause ones boosting and one's N/A

For me when I saw the concepts of the FRS/BRZ I really thought that it might be a car to replace the S in my garage. But after driving one on a long test drive I can say that wont be happening. It just felt cheap in comparison to me, the S is very tight and well put together, you feel like it will run forever and never break. I thought that the FRS being partly a Toyota would be similar and have a good build quality, then they decided that the FRS would be a Scion and build quality went out the window. I guess I will just have to wait for the next Honda sports car now...
