I guess you guys haven't seen the new Buick Enclave. In the metro area here, they're selling like hotcakes. Taking market share from the Rx330. It's a sweet looking car with excellent F&F.
I've loved the look of the Enclave since it was a concept. The production version isn't too far off - very classy, sexy (for an SUV), and generally well built. It's just a bit too big for what I need.

It's pretty easy to top a list like this when you only sell 35-36 cars a year and every buyer is over the age of 80 who leaves the car in the garage the entire year.

What worries me is that it's "problems per 100 vehicles". What kind of problems? Do they just treat all problems the same? Certainly a broken glove box shouldn't be ranked on the same level as a seized transmission.

I actually know several serious car/track guys, who put their BMW/Porsche/S2000 away for the winter, and their daily driver is a Buick, and they actually have good things to say about them. Sometimes truth really is stranger than fiction.

AFAIK, it treats every problem with the same weight, and, the more options in a car, the more things that can go wrong, plus the expectations of the buyers, all work against cars with more features and demanding buyers (i.e. luxury buyers).

Still, when classed luxury vs luxury, there is some parity, but a broken lumbar knob rates the same as a transmission failure, so these polls aren't the greatest, but they're better than nothing. Still, seeing a breakout of the problems reported would likely color things in for you in a much better way.

I actually believe the demographics of most lexus and Buick owners are pretty close to the same. Buick has been making great strides lately in the reliability and looks department. They have a issue with public perception, obviously but they can get over that. And yes old people love to whine. When I was in HS i worked on a road crew in the summer and I got in trouble because some old person complained that I spit on the road!

Okay, I've wondered the same. Buick cars really aren't built to any higher standard than any Cadillac, Chevrolet, or even some Pontiac full-size sedans.

So, what's the difference?
More than any other division, even Cadillac, GM is trying to eliminate NVH and ride harshness issues from the new Buicks resulting in a high degree of smooth riding quietness from these cars. The new Enclave -- a home run which is leaping off dealer lots -- is a good example.

That is the difference. The Cadillacs are more sporty and suffer a slight decrease in ride and quietness vs Buicks. This is the reverse of the old days of the '50s and '60s, but that is how it is today. If you want the absolute quietest, smoothest riding cars from GM, you get a Buick.

Frankly, every Buick but the Enclave makes me puke from extreme boredom, but they are actually very well built cars, hard as it is to believe.

True! As opposed to all those 18-year-old Lexus drivers out on the Nurburgring.

I'd rock an Enclave or Lacrosse Super or Lucerne Super.

This is soley based on responses from owners. Forgive me, but I have a feeling that many Buick owners don't even know where they are, let alone if there's something wrong with their car.
Lol holy sh!t someone had to say it, I thought of that when I first saw the title.
