buying a cruiser...
looking at buying a sportster- if i buy a new one i can have it customized right outta the box exactly as i want it.
if i buy a used one i gotta find one that has been customized as i would like it, or change it out.
obvious advantage is that a used one is a bit cheaper. but from what i have seen, there is not a big diff between the price of a new one and one that is a coupla years old.
would you go new or used??

Look hard for something customized near how you want it. You will not believe how much money you'll save that way. People are lucky to get 50% of their add-on values back out of the bike. Not to mention that many mods don't fit as advertised so there might also be some install or tuning frustrations you can avoid.
I think the XL883C is the most frequently sold bike on Craigslist. A lot of them are sold because you grow out of them quickly but they retain their value because it's not a half bad starter bike.
Cheap, HD name all that, makes people warm and fuzzy inside I guess...
I'd buy used but use caution, a lot of them may have been downed.
