The C6 will be one awesome car but the interior shot shown on that page is a bit of a let down. I was hoping that the interior revamp would rid the car of the 'plasticy' appearance but it doesn't look as though that will be the case.

You know, having my C5 for almost 4 years now, I have been hearing complaints about how plastic and crappy the interior is and about a year ago, I had the opportunity to drive and really look over a $60k 2002 Boxster S and seeing the center stack and center console and how cheap the plastic looked there, I almost laughed out loud.
The C6 is a big improvement over the C5 and I would imagine the overall interior quality isn't going to be too far off from a P-car which costs $30k more. If you want a Lexus/Bentley/RR/Ferrari interior cough up the bank. If you want to drive a world-class sports car for around $45-50k, there is only one choice.

Today, the Boxster is the only alternative on price point, and the big-block-like 400 lb-ft, 400-hp performance of the new car means the little Porsche is not really a direct threat anymore.

Who in their right mind would compare a boxster and a corvette? They aren't even CLOSE in performance. Makes no sense really, just goes to show the boxster is WAY WAY over priced.
Oh, wait, you own an S2000. Could it be that there's more to a car than straight line performance?
Actually, you're right -- when I bought my Boxster S, I didn't even consider the Corvette.
