As cool as an SRT-10 Coupe would be, I'm thinking the C6 Z06 is going to womp on it, especially since Dave Hill (chief engineer of Corvette) is saying the C6 Z06 is going to be able to run with the Ford GT for a lot less money.

Quikag: it just depends on how much HP they give it and how much it weighs. Since little is known about either it's too early to tell. Whatever, I love it!!

Well, there is very, very strong speculation that it is going to be 500hp and around 3100lbs. That power/weight ratio is stronger than the SRT-10 for sure. Though, Dodge might bump the Coupe to 550hp.

Gotta love these horsepower wars.

I actually expect the C6 Z06 to come in at less then 3100lbs and with 500HP. The viper coupe will need a pretty large horsepower bump if it is going to keep on weighing in at ~3400lbs, but there is speculation that it might see north of 600HP. That would seem like a pretty devastating blow for the Srt-10 vert sales, but who knows. I am pretty sure DC wants to have the fastest american sports car title back.

Don't forget than when the Viper was bumped to 450hp back in '96, I believe, both the Coupe and RT-10 targa got the horsepower bump.

It seems almost stupid nowadays to buy a first year model as the horsepower always increases quite a bit within a year or two. Look at the Pontiac GTO, had a 350hp LS1 the first year and now a 400hp LS2 the second year. I bet those people that paid a premium for one of the first GTO's are pretty pissed right now. Not to mention, the cosmetic enhancements on the '05 GTO.

I have little doubt the C6 Coupe is going to get an extra 10-20hp in the next year or so. There is no reason whatsoever than an LS2 motor couldn't make 430hp easy down the road.

I love it as well. Now if only Honda would so the same with the S2000 and lower the overall weight.
