C7 vs 2014 911 S

I agree with most of the previous posters. The leap that the C7 has made over the C6 is impressive. The view from the rear doesn't appeal to me that much (looks too squared off) but otherwise I love the exterior, all around.
I love the Porsche 911. It's been my favorite car for longer than I can remember. But I haven't been of fan of the direction that Porsche has been moving that car. Higher performing yes, but less raw. Larger, heavier, more luxurious and isolated. Not my cup of tea. The 964 and 993 were fantastic models. 996 missed the mark a bit (visually) but the 997 made up for that. And the price is ridiculous these days.
But I still love the sound of a flat 6 wailing away above 7000rpm. Honestly don't understand how someone could say it doesn't sound good.

The Corvette on the other hand, well the styling needs to be turned down from 11. The C6 was good if perhaps to conservative for some.

The Porsche engines have always sounded like there are some loose bits rattling around in the crankcase at low to mid rpm. This characteristic goes back to their air cooled days and continues today. They may sound OK at screaming at redline but at real world speeds they aren't just uninspiring to me, they sound like something needs to be tightened. Japanese 6's either inline or V configuration don't seem to suffer from this noise. Certainly not BMW 6's. Ford & Chevy V8's sound much better. As do Mercedes V8's. Maybe it's just a characteristic of the flat 6 that I'm just sensitive to. Or maybe it's a heat shield rattling and not the engine. Whatever it is, it's a huge turnoff for me.

Corvettes suck. Only those who can't afford a 911 would even consider a Vette.

I totally agree. And they smell bad and their butts smell and they like to smell their own butts.

For me, in Canada. buying a 997.2 Carrera S will cost me about $70K. I believe a C7 Z51 with MRC will be available at invoice ($52K) next year, meaning I can bring it to Canada for under $56K. That's a HUGE gap in price for a car that will absolutely smoke a 997.2 C2S. I believe the 997.2 C2S will perhaps feel more raw than the C7, with better steering feel and arguably a little more feedback, but I'm not sure I'm willing to spend nearly $15K more to get a car that (more or less) came out in 2005 vs one that came out in 2013.
The C7 just keeps looking more and more appealing to me. I'm still waiting to see/drive one in person.
