Except the GSR will get stolen inside of two weeks.

One of the most commonly stolen cars in the USA, I believe.

Get the last gen Si hatch, the LSD doesn't do anything in the snow really. It only helps you when you are turning or launching hard. I think the hatchback Si should be cheaper, meaning low payments since u said u had $7k disposable, a lot more room than the delSol and excellent gas milage. Not sure about salt since I don't drive in the winter, but wouldn't regular car washing help with that? Also, you get the satisfaction and peace of mind of getting a new car with a warranty to boot.

Heh, I HAVE a good job... S2k is one of my potential endgames, but as I mentioned there are others I'm considering.

I thought an LSD would help when one tire is on ice and the other isn't and you're trying to get going from a stop? I know I've been stuck in that position before. In any case, snow tires will be purchased for this car. Can anyone tell me where to get Hakkapelittas?

I can't justify to myself a new EP3 at anywhere close to the price of a new 06; it's just not nearly enough car. A used one maybe, especially since...

I probably won't get the Sol. It has been deregistered, apparently at the protest of the guy brokering the deal between my mother and the owner, but the end result is it can't be taken to a mechanic and can't be properly test driven. I once got an 88 Camaro IROC without a mechanic looking at it (young and stupid, yes I know) and I swore not to make that mistake again. I'm sure the Sol would be less failure-prone than that was but I'm still not spending close to 6 grand on a 9 year old car with no test drive and no mechanic looking it over.

Has anyone driven the new Civic coupe? I'd be much more enthusiastic about the car if I didn't the dashboard was ugly, weird, and less functional than a traditional one. Anyway, unless a sweet GS-R or EM1 comes along I'll probably wind up going with a used EP3 if the price can be talked down to a reasonable level and an 06 if not.
