THe TL Costs less
The TL looks better than the new BMWs
The TL is built better.....(parts are on tighter, gaps are much smaller, and a lot less electronic problems.)
The TL is faster than all 3 and 5 series, and is equal to the 330/530
The TL comes with more standard options
The TL comes with better service (acura is no comparison to BMW)
True, the TL is cheaper.

Looks are subjective. IMO, the new 3 and 5 Series both look better than the TL.

Built better? BMW's fit and finish are on par or exceeds that of Honda/Acura.

Here's some 0-60 data... tell me which is faster?

05 TL 6.5 http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/acura/tl/1...denav..8.Acura*

06 330i 6.1 http://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/3/200...n/techdata.htm

05 530i 6.4 http://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/5/530iSedan/techdata.htm

05 545i 5.7 http://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/5/545iSedan/techdata.htm

Proving you wrong is getting to be a habit.

True, the TL comes with more standard options. BMW has more option packages to be added on.

Service is dealership dependent. I've heard of nightmare experiences on both sides. In my personal experience, BMW is taken care of me well.

TL 0-60 5.8

ANyway...you quoted a 330.....

the 325 STARTS at $35000, with no options. For the price of a loaded 325, you can have a LOADED m45, which is better than any BMW thats out now.

Face it, BMWs dont make sense anymore. And if you want me to forget the TL, fine, the G35 is better in every respect than the BMW, save the name factor.
Whatever, this topic is endless and pointless. Its his money, test drive both, and see what you like.

So obviously, you know as much about marketing, as I know about nuclear physics.

FWD is still the MOST preferred platform, and most people who shop for cars dont even consider what wheels are being driven. YOu are just like every other BMW owner Ive ever met. Sitting on your high horse, denying all your problems with the car, and pissed that its not as good as the competition. Enjoy your m3.
Actually I make my living in internet marketing and I'm damn good at what I do. They didn't nickname me "webgod" in the office for nothing.

As for my M3, I've never denied it having problems. Do a search. Everyone locally knows I have problems but BMW takes care of me each time. And it doesn't help that I was rear ended last week and the mofo left the scene (hit and run).

As for me sitting on my high horse - don't assume you know me. I'm giving objective opinions unlike you honda fanboi. You love Honda so much that you are blind. I love Honda too but I'm not ready to blindly praise all its products. There is such thing as constructive critism and hopefully the more there are, the better Honda will build its products for us.

I'm not pissed at all, well maybe that my M3's rear end is smashed in, has over $17K in damages and will be spending the next 3 months at the body shop. What competition? The M3 is the best GT coupe for the money.

I am enjoying my M3, well I was at least.

My wife's automatic TL has no torque steer. I tried to look for it - not there, sorry.
Sorry I wasn't clear, my bad. I meant the 6 speed, not automatic. You are correct the auto does not torque steer but the 6 speed manual does.

If this is your wife's car you should research a list of cars you think she'd like. Then go with her on her tests drives. Half the fun of getting a new/used car is test driving the options and choosing yourself.

b/c they sell a shitload of them....hence more cars need to be serviced....and they have fewer dealerships....it's brilliant, actually.

like i said kid, think....use your brain.

(btw, BMW just had their best year in 2004)
Just for clarification, Acura sold more TLs than BMW did four-door 3-series last year. I posted it in another thread quite some time ago - I'll dig it up if you're interested.

Bottom line - Acura sold around 72K TLs, I think, and BMW sold about 66K 3-series sedans (in North America). The roughly 33K other vehicles included the M3 and the coupe, which aren't direct competitors to the TL (in terms of configuration).

That's more of an apples-to-apples comparison, I think.

Lets see how the 06 3 Series do against the TL. I suspect there will be a lot of used TL's at various BMW dealers soon.

We have an 05 TL, and the backseat is kinda small to seat tall adults comfortably.

Have you considered the new Avalon? The previous gen was one of the most comfortable car I've been in, and there was plenty of space. I'm sure this gen is even better.

We'll see. Problem is, people have to get far less powerful or far less optioned 3-Series to compete with the TL in price. I really don't see the TL losing any sales, especially with the somewhat more controversial styling of the new 3-Series. I think you'll just see a lot of used E46 3-Series at the BMW dealers...

The TL is selling over 7K a month these days. It's on par to sell close to 85K this year. I don't see the 3-series sedan jumping up 20K in sales, sweet motor or no...
