Cayman S article and pics
Which brings up the question again... Z06 vs Cayman S vs 911S
Cayman S
pro: Cheapest of the three, less likely to kill self and/or get arrested for demonstrations of speed
con: the least butch car of the three, slowest, least prestige (so you couldn't afford a 911)
Z06
Pro: fastest, medium expensive
Con: cheap looking (IMO), maybe too fast for street use
911S
Pro: faster than the CS, most pestige, classic style
Cons: Most expensive, rear engine (?) worse than mid-engine (?)
I know the Cayman S is not a super-fast car, but I wonder if Porsche will turn up the wick with a faster version down the road?

I don't know about the Cayman being the cheapest of the 3. if you start adding options that would be expected in a 60K+ car, leather, Xenon, etc, it'll end up more than the Vette. You can't compare by getting a barebone Cayman.
jesus, anyone who thinks the Z06 is "cheap-looing" needs glasses, or has no taste, IMHO. Get a grip :/ Just by looking at your "pros and cons," you spend way, way too much time thinking about what other people think of you based on the car you drive. At some point in life, you need to start making your own decisions, and stop worrying about "what other people think."

I'll tell ya what, aside from the atrocity known as the Cayanne, Porsche is making some REALLY attractive cars these days. The 997 is fantastic, the CGT needs no introduction, and now the Cayman comes along and joins the family. It's a sharp car, and I think Porsche has a real winner on their hands here. Can't wait for the first reviews.
