Man-panty?

Anyway, I even liked the 7-series that was his first design to come out. I never understood the issue people had with it. Go figure.
My problem with the early models was the poor integration of the components. The trunk lid and tail lights looked as they were on the wrong car. Some of the curves were simply out of sync with others. You should not have to explain a design when people think it is distasteful or wait for them to get used to it... it is either attractive or not.

If Chris Bangle took a dump on a dealer showroom floor, some people would admire his turds as bold examples of revolutionary design.

He actually did this in late 2003; he called it "the 5-series" and left the room. It has sold well.

It's a matter of opinion. I don't really care for the 5 Series like basscase. However I do respect Bangle for completely changing the designs. I love the pre Bangle cars but some of his designs have grown on me especially the 3 Series and the Z4. Honestly that segment needed a kick in the a$$. I mean look at Jaguar. They have completely turned around and now have designs that can compete with BMW. The XF and XK look amazing. If BMW hadn't mixed things up we still sould have the outdated Jaguar designs, Mercedes would still 2 Demsional, and Audi would have never introduced the A5/S5. Bangle has done a good job. I only hope that the Concept CS gets made but toned down a bit.

i thought aston martin headlights too...

but agreed--his designs are controversial, and that's not a bad thing. i havent really decided if i like them or not. but his designs do help push things forward faster, and i like the fact that other manufacturers seem to be stepping up to the plate and trying to develop their own 'better' styles to outdo him.

I like the 5 series except the head and tail lights. I am a fan of the flame surfacing, but I know that a lot of shops are concerned of how they would repair all the grooves.
I think the M coupe is probably one of the best looking cars I've seen in a long while.
To each their own, some people prefer the look of the mini to the corvette.

I have always been the first to bash the Bangle design atrocities of the last 6-7 years or so, but that CS concept is FINALLY a step in the right direction for BMW.

If they start producing vehicles that look like that in their lineup, I could once again consider owning a BMW.
