Sadly it doesn't apply to Vipers... I'm actually tempted to pick up a Viper/Z06/ZR-1 as an investment... if what Chevy said is true, they may stop the little horsepower war they've got going... I bet in a few years the last of the Vipers and big V8 vettes will be in high-demand by collectors

Glad to see Chrysler paying an interest into the ongoing fuel "crisis." They could be researching hybrid drives, alternative fuels and all those types of technology in order to recruit buyers AND burn less fuel. Instead they're just slapping a rebate on gasoline.

Not that I really care about any of that stuff. I have my own thoughts about burning less gasoline to save the planet, but I probably better keep them to myself. Im a mining engineer, its my job to destroy the planet.

Either way i think its a pretty decent marketing idea. Although it is obvious the Chrysler Corp is trying a few seemingly last resort options to win customers, i.e. they're lifetime warranty deal.

I'm getting so sick of these gas related threads. If we were on www.bumzone.com or something I might understand, but a dollar extra in gas prices is a few hundred dollars a year.

I bet the kind of people that think gasoline is going to bankrupt them are the same people that would buy a chrysler so this may work well.
Reality is high gas prices is changing the way Americans live, specially if you are about to lose your house, and your job is not that secure.
We are car enthusiasts, we don't care about fuel, but gas prices + new CAFE standards are reshaping the whole sports car scene, so heck, I am gonna follow these threads pretty closely from now on.

That all sounds nice but the bottom line is for the average driver it's only 3-500 more per year for each dollar increase in the cost of gas.

Sure if you are losing your house and your job isn't secure you aren't in good shape. But if that's the case you really* shouldn't be focusing on gas prices and should be riding a bicycle around to find a new job.

Nothing wrong with staying up to date on legislation though.

It's just a gimmick; like most things like this are.

Like gas tax relief.....Unless the govt is going to cover it.

Im not tempted but alot of people will be, and rightfully so. There are mumbles that the gas will hit close to $5/gallon this year. This is a huge incentive, that will save people thousands if the price gets that high. i'm not sure how this serves as a gimmick when the savings in your pockets are real. Now, i dislike Chrysler as much as you guys do, but this is a good incentive.

Keep in mind though, these incentives have limited miles per year, it ONLY applies to 87 gas, etc.

So with that ... it does not look as good to me anywho
