Default Clio V6

Anyone here have any experience with Renault Clio V6? I just love this car but have never driven one and would like the what all y'all think of it. Hopefully a couple of you own them...

Yeah I own one in Gran Turismo

...unlikely you're going to run into very many (former or current) owners on a US site for S2000's

Didn't Top Gear rate the hot-model Clio as one of the most evil-handling (bad) cars of all time?

It's an amazing little car!

It's little brother, the Clio 182 used to be voted as one of the best handling hot hatch cars in the UK.

The Clio V6 is also very good, but due to the weight at the back it is a lot like the S2000 and enjoys to 'wag it's tail'.

I don't recall TG ever criticising it's handling... maybe the Mk1 got some stick, but the version in pics above doesn't.

I must be thinking of the first generation. Here's a quote from http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/carandriving/revi...55-1002554.html

"The first charge of not being quick enough was one that stung Renault, but was largely of their own making. The brutal truth was that the first Clio V6 was only half a second quicker to 60mph than a car costing half as much, the Clio 172 Cup (now superseded by the 182 Cup). Whats more, the handling of the mid-engined V6 was, to put it mildly, interesting. When they ran a press launch for the car at a twisty circuit, few journalists managed to complete a lap without relinquishing control of their vehicle at some point."

Cool-looking hatch! But too boy-racer looking at the same time. For the same money, I'd personally get something else.

Seriously though, no one in the US is likely to have driven one at length unless they were perhaps in the military stationed in Germany or something, and got a joy ride in one once.

But the Clio V6 was an R32 before Volkswagen's R32 existed. I've seen a couple videos of them being run around over in Europe, and it's a pretty awesome little thing.

saw one on the road in Skokie, IL a few years ago. It didn't look at all "boy racer," nor modded econobox. It's hard to describe, because there really isn't anything quite like it. It is what it is, and the experience of a bunch of idiot journalists wouldn't discourage me if it was available here.

ps - S2ki is an international S2000 site, but most of the boards are USA dominated.

If I was looking for Clio advice, I'd post in the Euro threads.
