Confused and in need of some elaboration
Ive read about plenty of JDM rides in magazines before and never given them much thought because of how difficult and down right impossible it is to import most cars from japan. Among the rides I've read about was a clean "JDM" Integra Type R owned by a guy in LA from an issue of Compact Sports Car. And now that I am chatting up the fine folks over at NSXPRIME about my next car purchase
I ran across this article:
http://jpcnews.blogspot.com/2008/08/spoon-...xs-to-type.html
"So, while the only Type R the US market ever (officially) enjoyed was the ol' DC2 Integra..."
That intrigued me almost as much as the main article itself. Could someone please elaborate on this! Are DC2 Type Rs from Japan legal to import to the US??? Or am I missing something

I'm not sure how you would register one, but if it's 1996 or up, you will need OBDII on the car to pass emissions. But you can swap that over from the USDM Integras. It's not as hard as importing a skyline though.
If you as on the Subaru boards, some people have imported newer Legacys and STi, and when it's time for emissions, they have to use the USDM pcms (which are equipped with OBDII) so they can pass.

I'm a fan of Honda for sure but I'd way rather have one of those than a DC2
Like Jakup said, they say the DC2 was the only type r we officially enjoyed because the dc2 type r was sold in america.
that doesn't mean you can import a dc2 type r and its less trouble, it means you can buy a usdm dc2 type r.
