You are comparing a 4 person front wheel drive car with a 2 person convertible. That is apples to oranges.

The Z06 to NSX comparison is on the other hand valid. Both are 2 seater tuned sports cars.

I guess you don't read NSXPrime. The NSX build quality is no better or worse than your mothers Accord. I think you are falling into the trap of just because it costs more it must be better. I guess it's something you need to experience first hand before you can understand it.

Where do you get that notion? There are plenty of cars that better its performance in most if not every measure of performance. Some of them even hold 4-5 people (M3, M5). Cars that are a more direct comparison, GT3, Z06, Viper are in a different performance league all together. They do everything better --- in most cases much, much better.

Using your logic, the NSX is then a slow and overpriced piece of shit.

I happen to think the build quality of the accord is very good.

by way of comparison, I have driven an NSX, Viper GT-S, 911 C2, M3, M5, SRT4 and a Diablo. To me, the NSX "felt" the best. I'm not talking about performance, but the fit and finish as well as the feel and quality of little things like the HVAC controls. The rest of the vehicles (with the exception of the Neon) are all very nice and each have their strong points. The NSX is seeminly a jack-of-all trades and master of none in this category.

The Acura was once a perfomance driven vehicle. Now, since the performance bar has been raised, the NSX is a terrific sports car, but not the performance monster it once was. Granted, it did take GM and the like about 10 years to catch-up, but it did happen.

Honda needs a change. Thank god the new HSC is on its way.

 

Wow, talk about brand loyalty ! So am I to "like" NSX simply because I own a S2000? Sorry, your analogy just don't work for me.

I do agree with your statement that "MOST" of us (myself included) won't be able to utilize all the advantages of NSX-R even if we had one. It's a guess but I think it will take a VERY seasoned driver (like "Gan-san" in BM videos) to put up a lap time that matches a ok driver in Z06.

Probably true, but the Accord has is more reliable and has better build quality than majority of the cars sold today(including your porsche).

What I simply meant that if you think the Z06 is a better performance car than the NSX in ALL RESPECTS....then the SRT4 is better than an s2k. With suspension and chip, it will walk the s2k on a track. Does that mean I want to give up my s2k for a neon?

Everyone knows the NSX isnt the fastest car in the world. But for what it does, it is still one of the best.

The m5 (last gen) is slower than the e55 and the RS6. But yet it won #1 in a car and driver comparo. Why? Because it does everything right.

I can stick a zo6 motor in a miata and demolish Gt3s, 360s, Murcielagos, 996TT, and others. Does that mean that I would rather have a "z06 miata" over a 360?

The s2000 isnt the fastest, it doesnt brake the fastest, but yet you all own one? Why? Why did you spend more money on an s2000 instead of a Turbo mr2?

People who buy NSXs dont even look at Z06s. Just like BMWs....when people walk into a BMW dealership, they are set on getting a bmw, even if the TL is better in 99% of the aspects.

I never drove a Z06. I have driven a very powerful blown C5. I have also driven an NSX. The C5 would EAT the NSX in a race with straights. But yet the NSX is just plain more fun. Everything is in harmony, from the handling, to the engine behind your ears.

There are A LOT of people who would take an NSX over a 996TT. Their reasons do not need to be justified to anyone. Just like the s2000, its a car made for specific people....if you dont know why, then you arent one of them.

Just hypothetically....

If I were to buy you a car....you have to drive it and you CANNOT sell it...what would you rather have, a Z06 or an NSX?

 

Tell that to Socrates and see what kind of response you get ...that's why we are all here isn't it . He'll say NSX will EAT C5 in the CORNER and loose in the straight! BUT HOLD ON!! It's only because the poor NSX has only 270 hp !!

 

 

How many people, if given the choice between being given a brand new Z06 or a new NSX for free, would choose the Z06? Probably not too many, but when the green stuff comes into the equation, and you are spending your OWN money, then it's hard to justify the price of the NSX over the Z06.
