Toyota (4), Honda (3) and Infiniti (2) make 9 of the 10 top pick cars by CR, Mazda picks up the last spot.

Its CR. Did you really expect any different(maybe GS instead of M). Reliability comes 1st, 2nd and 3rd. After that they consider other features.

Well, I think you have to take anything you read with a grain of salt. But to be fair, CR seems to take a variety of things into account in their surveys, and they try to give credit where credit is due. If car "A" is American and it had poor reliablity 5 years ago, but has improved in recent years, then CR will make also note of that. Something to think about...

Believe it or not, CR and other American publications are not set out to intentionally hurt their own American automakers. They simply give credit where credit is due.

I think CR has a lot of credability. We use to look to them to get an idea of reliability over the years before the internet was available. Yes boys and girls, there was a time without the internet.

It's not the end all to car reviews, but just another resource to use.
