I've had mine for a couple of weeks now. Don't have time to write much about it since I'm heading to the movies, but in summary:
- it rocks
- VERY light feeling, almost like a MTB
- handles like a dream, better than any dirt bike I've ridden
- feels slower than the YZ250F, might be more perception due to broader powerband and lack of "hit"
- looks like a works bike...detailing is incredible for a Jap. prod. bike
- suspension was waaaay too soft stock, I had it resprung w/ my OEM 450 springs after the first ride
- decided I can't sell the 450, since there are situations where I def. prefer it (tight tracks w/ short approach big doubles or stepups to clear)
Update from my earlier post:
- after installing a ProCircuit Ti4 pipe, rejetting, and ripping out the anti-backfire screen from the filter cage, it made a huge improvement in power and throttle response
- I found myself never wanting to ride the 450 anymore, so I sold it
- I may buy a CRF250X, so I have one optimized for hare scrambles and one for MX
If you really want to know everything there is ever to possibly know about the CRF250R, you need to set yourself up with an account at www.thumpertalk.com. The S2KI of fourstroke dirtbikes. I ride a CRF450R, and the forums over there have helped so much, it's unbelievable.
