Handling.

Lightweight makes it feel like a go-kart, and some people just want to feel like they are in a go-kart, even though they are driving an actual car

The car is slow stock by any measure, but considering that Honda put better suspension on their cars than anyone else, a CRX is a playground of opportunity. More power=more fun. They are super light, because there is not much there. Add a front strut brace to a Civic, and it immediately drives better. There is a reason they make a brace for pretty much everything on a Civic. Not that it is shoddy without, just better with.

They are one step away from a motorcyle.

It was always widely felt that the 88 CRX was the best model. It was the first year of the new model and it was still light weight, the 89-90-91 went up significantly in weight due to gov regulation. My 87 was the last year of the 1st gen and was also great in the SI model!

88 is known to be one of the best years due to the rear suspension. The 88 M/O was the only one with seat belts not mounted on the doors...

Goodluck finding a good one

I owned an '88 CRX Si and didn't realize how revered it would be. It was a great car and extremely reliable. Many fond memories.

I had a 90 si and it was/is the best car I have ever had (driving a 2000 galant now). I beat the living *&%$ out of that car and it took it and kept on running. Great handling and unbeatable steering feel (no power steering), though the s2k comes close. It truly is a gem of a car. In fact the way I ended up buying was kind of interesting. It was sitting out on a ford dealers lot for like a month and finally pulled in to test drive it cause I was curious. I had NO Intention of buying a car I just wanted to see what it was like. well the guy let me and my friend take it out by ourselves. needless to say we ran the ^&%$ out of it and loved every minute of it. It was so much fun I went back the next day and bought it. I still miss that car to this very day

I had a '90 CRX Si and loved it. Incredible value considering it cost less than 1/3 the S2000's price, loads of fun to drive, indestructible despite the fact that I drove like an idiot and beat the shit out of it, sipped gas, and hauled loads of stuff.

I think replacing it w/ the Del Sol was a huge mistake, and I think Honda could have a huge hit w/ resurrecting the CRX just as Nissan has done w/ the Z.

I went from a Corvette to a CRX 1.5 in 1984 when they 1st came out. A couple of years later I bought another Corvette (C4) and finally sold the CRX because as long as I had it I wouldn't drive the Vette. Big mistake. Should have sold the Vette instead because the CRX was way more fun to drive. I've got a 91 si now and it's a great little car.

Honda should have their ass kicked for dropping the CRX. The modern day CRX is BMW's MINI.

180K+ miles and still running strong. If you can find one, get it. If you have one, keep it!

It's really starting to piss my girlfriend off, but I still have mine. I just can't seem to get rid of it. I don't even drive it anymore, it just sits in the garage until the S goes in the shop. Maybe it's just a security blanket. If I ever need to sell the S2k, the CRX is there and it's paid off. However now it's to the point that I have to sell either one or the other.

The relative ease that it takes to toss the car around is the reason why people love that car. I have to part with my crx, as I have a baby on the way and a crx and s2000 just isn't going to work. I think the biggest benefit is that when I took that car to Manhattan I was always able to find a parking space.
